What it is:
The state-funded K-12 Databases program provides access to online research databases. Resources currently include a broad range of age appropriate, authoritative and relevant materials from Britannica Digital Learning and EBSCO Publishing. Access is 24/ 7/ 365 to students, teachers, parents and school leaders from school and home. Regardless of district size or funding, all Texas public school communities have equal access to these state-funded resources.

Students today are exposed to more information than their grandparents were in a lifetime. Constructive and targeted integration of quality digital resources like the K-12 Databases enables students to acquire, practice, and apply higher order thinking skills resulting in better learning outcomes and better preparation for life after high school. Learn how to train, integrate and use these important online resources. Access is 24 / 7 / 365 from school and home.

As a result of the 81st Texas legislative session, a portion on the student technology allotment will continue to fund the K-12 databases program throughout the 2010-2011 school year. This program is provided through a partnership between the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC), the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20)
