The ESC-20 WeTeach_CS Collaborative
  • We have received the WeTeach_CS grant from the UT Center for STEM Education and currently have 24 teachers learning about computer science and how to useit in their classrooms.   All of the teachers will challenge the TExES Computer Science 8-12 certification examination.  The ESC-20 CS Collaborative began February 1st and ends August 15, 2017.  The goals of the collaborative include:
  • Teacher participants will grow in computer science content knowledge as demonstrated by attendance and participation in professional development experiences.
  • Teacher participants will work towards becoming well-rounded, certified computer science teachers as demonstrated by the development of a personal computer science PD plan which includes taking the TExES Computer Science Certification examination.
  • Teacher participants will support campus and/or district computer science initiatives as demonstrated by the development of an individualized campus/district plan which includes the involvement of community partners.

Currently 24 teachers from the following districts have each received 18 hours of CS training!  The following districts have teachers participating in the WeTeach_CS Collaborative through ESC-20:
