Assistive Technology
Training and technical assistance are offered for all areas of Assistive Technology, including:
  • Overview
  • Assessment
  • Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC)
  • Computer Access and Mobility
  • Software/Access
  • Accommodations for Instruction and Assessment
Assistive technology equipment and software is available for previewing and short-term loan through ESC 20. On-site consultation is also available (upon request) for assistance with assessment and implementation.
Texas Assistive Technology Network
Texas Assistive Technology Network (TATN) is working to ensure that students with disabilities receive assistive technology devices and services when needed to benefit from a free, appropriate public education.
The TATN consists of representatives from each of the Texas Education Services Centers, and the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Region 4 Education Service Center (Region 4) in Houston, TX provides statewide leadership for the network.

ESC-20's Assistive Technology Lending Library Center provides access to a variety of types of AT equipment that can be trialed for evaluation purposes.
