Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL)

Advancing Educational Leadership (formerly known as Instructional Leadership Development or ILD) training is a three (3) day, state-developed training designed to prepare school leaders with the knowledge and tools necessary for instructional leadership. AEL will address the following areas:
- Curriculum and Instruction
- Data Gathering and Analysis
- Goal Setting
- Effective Conferencing Skills
- Conflict Resolution Skills
- Team Building Skills
- Teacher Coaching and Mentoring
Please note that AEL is a co-requisite (must be completed prior to conducting observations) for T-TESS appraiser training.
This training supports Professional Goals for the following T-PESS Indicators:
2A, 2B, 2C 3A, 3B, 3C 4A, 4B 5A
Fee: $500 for 3 days of face-to-face/virtual training
The Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) is a three-day training required for teacher appraisers along with Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL) training. As these trainings are concurrent requirements the trainings may take place in any order.
