we do a lot of extrinsic motivation we do we have in our Panther Power Hour for students who do well in their diagnostic exams or just are doing well every 6 weeks pendants are honorable Raven progressing we reward students also with progress is it doesn't mean that you always have to meet the standards but when we see progress with a student we reward that also Benchmark recently and we went up and sometimes she gives us if we improve more you'll get like Panther hour which is a bunch of games and TVs Palace itself or we would get like pizza parties so our students work very hard for those rewards we celebrate our teachers as much as we can with celebratory lunch little rewards I know sometimes we'll raffle when our lunch tickets and we'll find a way to cover that class for a special you know certain amount of time but we want to reward our teachers because they do so much for a student we would meet look at the scores and identify teeth that we were the weakest Auntie said we were strong on and then come up with action plans in spiral review to address those areas and then how are we going to differentiate amongst our students because I can come up with one strategy to address his skill however when I go back to the classroom that strategy needs to turn into three or five different sub strategies because every child is different we've have a Reading Mass at science writing boot camps and they are teachers what use the day that to Target the areas that students needed assistance with and it was very Hands-On it was a lot of making take activities manipulatives it wasn't usual paper pencil multiple choice at assessments that we would give during boot camp during boot camp is more open-ended the students coming up with answers and using a lot of like I said manipulatives and just a lot of verbal discussion Simmons parental support is very important and that we do have very good parental support we worked on it again same thing having an open door policy inviting our parents we want to educate our parents on what their students their children are learning on so one of the things that we do is and that we have our parent assessment meet that we have them for every grade and for every meeting we talked to the parents and explain to them the different types of Assessments that their children will be taking that school year so we explain to the parents of the child is an emergent bilingual then we also the different types of Assessments that their child will take based on on their demographics so it's educating the parents so that they understand what we're assessing the kids aren't all so we invite the parents for a weekly volunteer parent volunteer meeting in desert held by a parent liaison and every week she has a special guest that focuses on different topics sometimes it's curriculum sometimes it's safety other times it's mental health other times you don't homework how to help your child with homework we have our teachers present also just recently we had one parent meeting were a teacher presented one of her second grade teachers was presenting on math problems and she was explaining to the parents house math problems now 3 problems I'm just single step their multi-step right so this is what your students and what your children are learning we do have our parent meetings that all parents actually get invited there different activities where the parent can actually assist in the education of the child we can actually be a great asset to the school and being able to help out the church children advance in their academics it's also about the emotional support that we provide to our students and I think that has also been part of our success that we make learning fun the teachers make learning and and the parents appreciate that and the kids respond well to that teachers form relationships students wear the kids want to work for them so it's easy to meet those high expectations for our teachers through the kids because the kids want to do well they know how hard and how much planning goes into Teachers Day so the kids respond very well to that we don't discriminate amongst any pop subpopulation and the hi spec stations are set for everyone everyone can do it with a $0.06 maybe with support with additional Reese persist but the expectations are for all if I could describe her campus it's a game-changer and it's going to show the world that yes are Hispanic kids can do it yes we can and we can compete with the top-notch school as we are no longer you know 1950 1970 we are in 2021 and our education needs to change from does not have to be a prescriptive curriculum it's up to us to change the vision of Education because we don't need students to be sitting down to be doing one worksheet we know we are future scientists we need our future problem solvers just give me the elementary grade level teachers and we collaborate and work together by having a regular community daily communication that's why I do if one of the say one of my grade level teachers is doing something that said Works in her classroom with me I mean we hold weekly grade level meetings and that's how we keep each other in the loop and then we have regular all school I mean for all staff meetings and that's what we share like more strategies things are happening Administration holds meetings with us too our school culture is one of connectedness where everyone feels connected in one way or another our students are connected and committed to being the best students that they can be our teachers are committed to providing the best education for our students are parents are connected by being supportive of our of our duties and our responsibilities and the community is very well connected to us all that together is what creates a positive culture for us our campus as soon as you walk in you can sense the positivity your greeting and everyone is excited to be here everyone wants to come to work the students are happy and it's like that all the time it's not just like that during special activities like the positive environment is here 100% of the time it all comes back to the climate why do we show them what are we radiating out onto our teachers do we show them that we care or is it just it is what it is no we show it from the top it start the top whatever we show our teachers whatever we're teaching them whatever we're vibing outdoor teachers that's what they get we show them we want excellent and there's nothing more there's no choice other than to be at the top and they enforce it in their classrooms whatever we show they show it works its way down is very positive you could go from talking to a counselor to teacher to the principal it's starts at the top you have good leadership everything else will fall into place teachers like to come to work kids will like to come to the classroom and be with their teachers
